Look! A duck!

August 7th, 2013

Up early and on our way as we finally got a decent sleep... well sort of :-)  Went into Soho and had breakfast at the Breakfast Club. Very good and highly recommended!  Next up another tube ride to Waterloo Station and the Duck Tour.  Lauren told us about this adventure the last time she was here.  It was a lot of fun and aside from the screaming 3,4 & 5 year old tire biters, a great experience!

Kelly and Kris climb the stairs into the Duck.

View from the duck.... the Victoria Tower and the Palace of Westminster (House of Parliament)

Once we finished the Duck Tour we headed off across the Millennium Bridge to the back streets of London and into the Ship & Shovell Pub for a well earned pint and some quiet time! It was splendid!

Great architecture everywhere you look. This is just outside the Ship & Shovell Pub

St Mary's in West Westminster

Royal Courts of Justice... this is where Kelly will end up if the credit card blows up :-)
Post pub walkabout along the Thames.

The London Eye from the other shoreline.

We had a nice long walk around the area and enjoyed the afternoon sunshine. With rush hour full on we elected to eat in town and then head to the airport hotel after the rush. Another pub stop at The Feather which was right across from the St. James Tube Station. Very convenient I might add :-)

Once back at our hotel we prepared our luggage as we will move into our downtown hotel in the morning. This will greatly reduce the travel time and allow us more time downtown.

Kris and I are planning a trip to Hendon Royal Air Force Museum near Colindale while Kelly does some economic stimulus in the area :-)
